In this episode of the Aligned Posture Podcast, we explore the different types of synovial joints found throughout the human body and why they are so important for movement, posture, and overall joint health.
We break down the main categories of synovial joints, including hinge, ball-and-socket, pivot, saddle, condyloid, and gliding joints, and look at how each one helps the body move in different ways. This episode also outlines the key features that make up a synovial joint, including cartilage, synovial fluid, the joint capsule, ligaments, and the role these structures play in reducing friction, supporting movement, and protecting the joint.
Whether you are studying anatomy, improving your understanding of human movement, or looking to better understand how the body stays mobile and aligned, this episode gives you a clear and practical introduction to synovial joints and their role in everyday movement.

In this episode, we begin our Lift List with Safety Cues series by breaking down key strength-training exercises and explaining how each movement fits into a well-structured workout programme.
Part 1 focuses on identifying whether each exercise is a free weight, fixed resistance, or bodyweight movement, while also highlighting whether it is a compound or isolation exercise. Alongside each lift, we cover essential safety cues to help improve technique, reduce injury risk, and build confidence in the gym.
Listeners will learn how to recognise different exercise types, understand the purpose of each movement, and apply simple coaching cues for safer and more effective training.

In this episode of the Aligned Posture Podcast, we explore how the Left AIC pattern can influence the body from the ground up, affecting how we stand, walk, breathe, rotate, and manage tension.
Rather than looking at posture as one isolated issue, I discuss how the position of the pelvis can influence the ribcage, spine, hips, legs and even the neck. When the body becomes biased towards one side, it can change how muscles switch on, how joints move, and how efficiently we access both sides of the body.
The episode outlines postural dynamics that may contribute to common issues such as hip tightness, lower back discomfort, shoulder tension, limited rotation, uneven weight distribution, and recurring movement limitations.
The aim is to help you understand the body as a connected system, where improving one area can positively influence the whole. By restoring better balance, breathing, and joint mechanics, we can move closer to building a more mobile, resilient, and happy healthy body.

In this episode, we explore one of the key ideas behind the PRI methodology: the human body is naturally asymmetrical.
Rather than seeing asymmetry as a problem, we look at how the left and right sides of the body are designed to work differently — and how issues can arise when we get stuck in one posture, one breathing pattern, or one movement strategy.
We discuss how the ribcage, pelvis, diaphragm, hips, and shoulders all play a role in movement, posture, and pain, and why the goal is not perfect symmetry, but better balance, adaptability, and movement options.
This episode is ideal for anyone dealing with stiffness, recurring tightness, posture issues, or curiosity about how the body really moves.
Key themes: PRI methodology, body asymmetry, posture, breathing, ribcage position, pelvic position, movement freedom, joint health, happy healthy bodies.
